The Tammy Faye Biopic
In the struggle between spirituality and money, the winner is obvious for materialism in this director's brilliantly over-the-top biopic regarding the shamed televangelist plus her lawbreaking partner. The actor plays the corrupt Bakker, who declares initially, claiming divine approval for wealth. Both individuals set about capitalizing on the American public's Christian beliefs. It's an extravaganza of bad interior design, overdone appearance and hypocrisy, yet Chastain achieves to show the real-life figure as a sympathetic figure. October 14th, early morning, Film4
